China Power Generation Equipment Output Reach 135 MKW

On March 16, the "2021 Development Situation and Situation Outlook of China Power Generation Equipment Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Prospect") released by the China Machinery Industry Federation shows that my country's power generation equipment output will reach 135 million kilowatts in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%. hit a 10-year high. Among them, the proportion of new energy and renewable energy equipment output has increased steadily, reaching 57.6%, which has become an important support for the growth of power generation equipment. It is estimated that this year the national power generation equipment production will be completed about 133 million kilowatts.
 

The "Prospect" shows that in 2021, the national output of hydropower units will be 20.178 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. Among them, the proportion of the output of pumped storage units in the output of hydropower units has increased rapidly, from less than 1% in 2016 to 32.7% in 2021. The wind power sector performed "brightly", contributing 72.2% to the output of new energy and renewable energy. The output of nuclear power equipment has recovered steadily. The main supply units are Shidaowan CAP1400 Demonstration Project No. 1 and No. 2, Hualong No. 1 Unit Zhangzhou No. 1, Fangchenggang No. 3 and No. 4, Taipingling No. 1 and No. 2, Xiapu Demonstration Fast Reactor 1 number, etc.
 

In 2021, the export scale of my country's power generation equipment will remain stable, and the proportion of renewable energy equipment exports will increase. The national export of generator sets was 9.156 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%, accounting for 6.8% of the output of power generation equipment. Domestic enterprises received new export orders for generator sets of 10.955 million kilowatts. Among them, the export of hydropower units was 1.812 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%; the export of thermal power units was 6.335 million kilowatts, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%; the export of wind turbines was 1.009 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 20%, and the proportion of renewable energy equipment exports increased by 6.1 percentage points .
 

While affirming the steady growth of the power generation equipment industry, active deployment of new industries, and orderly transformation, the "Prospect" also pointed out the industry's shortcomings: small and medium-sized enterprises are in trouble in business, and it is difficult to transform and upgrade; nuclear power equipment research and development costs are high, and localization promotion is not smooth; raw material prices have risen, further affecting the profitability of the company; the foreign epidemic has not been effectively controlled, and the risk of international projects has increased.
 

In response to the development of the energy industry this year, the Outlook predicts that the construction of large-scale hydropower bases will be steadily advanced this year, and the development of pumped-storage power stations will accelerate; Obviously, offshore wind power has great development potential; nuclear power will play a more important role in the energy transition, and comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy has become a new development path.
